Coleen Nolan’s Sister Anne Provides Update on Breast Cancer Journey

Anne Nolan, joined by her sister Coleen Nolan and panellists Ruth Langsford, Kelly Holmes, and Nadia Sawalha, spoke candidly about her breast cancer journey on the popular show Loose Women. During the episode, broadcast on October 7, 2025, Anne shared her emotional experiences and aimed to raise awareness about the disease.

Anne Nolan’s Breast Cancer Journey

At 74 years old, Anne recounted her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2000. After a lengthy battle, the cancer returned in 2020, forcing her to navigate treatments once again. Recently, she received news from her doctors that she is now cancer-free, a revelation that brought her to tears.

Celebrating Good News

Anne explained her routine following a cancer diagnosis, which involves annual mammograms and a final assessment after five years. She described the anxiety of waiting for her results: “I didn’t open it for about two hours as I was so scared it was going to be bad news.” When she finally opened the letter, joy replaced her fear. “I was so relieved to find out I was cancer-free,” she said, expressing her gratitude for the good news.

However, Anne emphasized the ongoing concern that accompanies her previous diagnosis. She acknowledged, “I think that is always what you live with when you have had cancer; there is always a chance it could come back again.”

The Nolan Family’s Ongoing Struggle with Cancer

The Nolan family has faced tremendous challenges with cancer. Anne’s sister, Bernie, sadly passed away at the age of 52 in 2013 after a three-year battle with breast cancer. Their sister Linda was first diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in 2005 and was initially declared cancer-free in 2006. Tragically, the disease returned in 2017, spreading to her liver and brain. Linda lost her life in January 2025.

Importance of Awareness

Anne Nolan’s appearance on Loose Women highlighted the importance of awareness in the fight against breast cancer. By sharing her personal story, she aims to encourage others to stay vigilant and proactive in their health screenings.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30 PM on ITV and ITVX, offering viewers heartfelt discussions on various topics, including health and personal journeys.
