Iran Conflict Live: Trump Urges China, Allies in Strait of Hormuz Crisis

Dubai International Airport has resumed a limited number of flights following a fire incident involving a fuel tank. This disruption was caused by a drone incursion that led to operations being suspended early on Monday. The fire, which emitted large flames into the sky, was eventually brought under control.
Flight Cancellations and Diversions
As a result of the incident, numerous flights were canceled or delayed. Some flights from countries like the UK, Ireland, India, and Pakistan were redirected back to their points of origin. The UAE’s aviation authority initially closed the airport, impacting travel plans for many.
Emirates, which is headquartered in Dubai, announced that some flights would start resuming from 10 a.m. local time (2 a.m. ET).
Evacuation and Passenger Experience
Passengers at the airport experienced significant disruption. Raj Dholakia, a traveler headed to Toronto via New York, described the chaotic scene as he and hundreds of others were evacuated. People were instructed to quickly find the nearest staircase and exit the terminal.
- Estimated 1,000 passengers gathered at the assembly point.
- Limited seating led many to sit on the floor.
- Some passengers remained on planes as flights were marked “gate closed” or “final call.”
The Dubai Media Office confirmed that the fuel tank fire was controlled, and importantly, no injuries were reported from the drone incident. As operations resume, some flights are being rerouted to Al Maktoum International Airport, located approximately 65 kilometers away.
Contacting Airlines for Updates
Travelers are encouraged to get in touch with their respective airlines for real-time updates regarding flight statuses. The situation at Dubai International Airport is developing, and passengers should stay informed about any further changes.
