Brendan Bottcher Leads New Curling Team

Brendan Bottcher is returning to the role of skip as he forms a new curling team in Alberta. This announcement was made on Monday and marks a significant change in his career. The team will also include seasoned players Geoff Walker and brothers Tanner and Jacob Horgan from Northern Ontario.
Team Composition
Bottcher, who is 34 years old, has a storied history in curling. He previously served as the skip of his own team before collaborating with Brad Gushue. Under Gushue, Bottcher played a crucial role as the second, with Walker as the lead. The duo experienced notable success, including winning the Montana’s Brier championship last year.
Recent Achievements
- World Junior Gold Medal in 2022
- Bronze Medal at the Brier with his former team in 2022
- Montana’s Brier Champion in the last season
Gushue, Bottcher’s previous skip, is set to retire after the current season. This transition opens the door for Bottcher to lead a team once again, which has historical significance in his career.
Horgan Brothers Join the Team
Joining Bottcher and Walker are Tanner and Jacob Horgan, who recently played for John Epping’s team. The Horgans did not qualify for the Brier in the current season. In the new lineup, Jacob Horgan will take on the role of third, while Tanner will fulfill the duties of second.
This new team formation brings together experienced players ready to compete in upcoming curling events, igniting excitement among fans and followers of the sport.
