Canada to Decide Point’s Status by Weekend

Hockey Canada has made a significant update regarding the Olympic roster for the upcoming games in Milano Cortina. Brayden Point, a forward for the Tampa Bay Lightning, will not participate due to injury. He suffered a knee injury on January 12, during a game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Replacement for Brayden Point

In light of Point’s injury, Hockey Canada has named Seth Jarvis from the Carolina Hurricanes as his replacement. Jarvis, 24, is originally from Winnipeg and played in the previous 4 Nations Face-Off tournament where Canada emerged victorious.

  • He was helped off the ice and placed on injured reserve on January 16.

Brayden Point’s Career Overview

Point, a native of Calgary, has entered his 10th season in the NHL. He began his career with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League. Prior to his injury, he participated in 37 games, scoring 11 goals and providing 19 assists. Point is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Lightning and has previously represented Canada in international competitions.

Canada’s Olympic tournament is set to begin next Thursday with a match against Czechia. The team will look to compete fiercely as they pursue success in Milano Cortina.
