Ottawa Area Sees Further School Bus Cancellations

In the Ottawa area, school bus services have faced numerous cancellations due to inclement weather. Snowfall has impacted transportation in various regions, particularly affecting eastern Ontario.
Current School Bus Cancellations
Despite some school buses operating, many are still not running across the region. The Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) reported cancellations in:
- Renfrew County’s Madawaska area
- Regions north of Kingston
- Belleville
Moreover, for the second consecutive day, the Consortium de transport scolaire de l’est (CTSE) has suspended French school bus services. Areas experiencing cancellations include:
- Brockville
- Carleton Place
- Almonte
- Prescott-Russell
- Marionville
- Merrickville
- Kemptville
Operational Buses
Fortunately, some buses are still operational. Both English and French buses are running in:
- Ottawa
- Parts of Renfrew County
School Operations
It is important to note that schools remain open even when buses are canceled. Parents and guardians are advised to verify transportation specifics with their respective schools or boards.
Weather Update
As of Thursday morning, snowfall warnings have been lifted. The Ottawa International Airport recorded nearly 14 centimetres of snow from late Tuesday into early Thursday.
