Thieves Steal Hundreds of Valuables in Bristol Museum Heist

Avon and Somerset Police have initiated an investigation following a significant theft from Bristol Museum. On September 25, over 600 artefacts, known for their cultural significance, were stolen during a heist at the museum’s archive.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the Cumberland Basin area. Four unidentified men managed to gain access to the museum’s premises.
- The stolen items originated from the museum’s British Empire and Commonwealth collection.

Police Investigation
Detectives are actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the men caught on CCTV. The lead investigator, Det Con Dan Burgan, emphasized the importance of these items to the city’s heritage.
“The theft of many items which carry a significant cultural value is a deep loss for the city,” he stated. “We hope that the community can help us bring those responsible to justice.”
Descriptions of Suspects
The four suspects all appear to be white and were captured on CCTV. Their descriptions are as follows:
- Suspect 1: Medium to stocky build; wearing a white cap, black jacket, light-coloured trousers, and black trainers.
- Suspect 2: Slim build; wearing a grey hooded jacket, black trousers, and black trainers.
- Suspect 3: Walking with a slight limp; wearing a green cap, black jacket, light-coloured shorts, and white trainers.
- Suspect 4: Large build; wearing a two-toned orange and navy or black puffy jacket, black trousers, and black-and-white trainers.
Authorities request anyone who may have seen these individuals or any potential stolen items being sold online to come forward with information.
