On a Friday afternoon, a significant fire broke out in Quinte West, specifically at 17 Bayside Drive. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported following this incident.

Quinte West Fire & Rescue responded swiftly to the emergency call just after noon. Fire Chief John Whelan reported that the incident escalated into a three-alarm fire.
Cause of the Fire
Initial investigations indicate that the blaze may have been sparked by lithium batteries that were being charged on the deck of the residence.
Response to the Incident
- Firefighters from multiple stations, including Stations 2, 5, and 6, were deployed.
- Approximately 25 firefighters actively worked at the scene.
- Support was provided by Station 1, as well as personnel from OPP, EMS, Hydro One, and Enbridge.
Damages and Ongoing Efforts
The estimated damage from the fire is around $900,000. Fire units continue to remain on site to manage the aftermath of this substantial incident.
