Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Joins India A for Tri-Series in Sri Lanka

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has received his first call-up to the India A team for an upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. This series will also include Afghanistan and marks an important milestone in Sooryavanshi’s promising cricket career.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Remarkable Journey

At just 15 years old, Sooryavanshi has quickly established himself in the world of cricket. He gained significant attention during the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year when he became a sensation for the Rajasthan Royals. Earlier this year, he excelled as the highest run-scorer for the India Under-19 team in the World Cup.

In the thrilling final of the Under-19 World Cup, he scored an impressive 175 runs off just 80 balls, contributing significantly to India’s championship victory.

India A Squad Details

The India A team is set to be captained by Tilak Varma, with Riyan Parag serving as his vice-captain. Notably, Varma, Parag, and fast bowler Anshul Kamboj are the only players in the squad who have prior experience with the senior national team.

Tri-Series Schedule

India A will kick off the tri-series against Sri Lanka A on June 9. The final of the series is scheduled for June 21. Following this tri-series, India A will also engage in two red-ball matches against Sri Lanka A, with the squad for these matches to be announced later.
