Forecast: Rain Expected Across Four Divisions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain across four divisions of the country. This weather change comes after a series of heatwave warnings issued recently.
Rain Forecast in Four Divisions
Starting at 8 a.m. on May 11, 2026, the BMD anticipates rain and thunderstorms in several regions. The areas expected to experience this weather include:
- Rangpur
- Rajshahi
- Mymensingh
- Sylhet
The forecast includes potential lightning and brief gusty winds during the storms. However, the remainder of the country is expected to stay mostly dry with occasional partly cloudy skies.
Temperature Outlook
Despite the impending rain, the day and night temperatures across the country may see a slight rise. The current weather pattern is influenced by a westerly low trough located over West Bengal and nearby areas.
Additionally, the BMD has indicated that a low-pressure system is likely to develop over the Southwest Bay and surrounding areas in the next 48 hours. This development may further impact weather conditions in Bangladesh.
