This initiative is particularly vital as tourism contributes approximately 15% to the country’s GDP, highlighting both its economic significance and inherent vulnerabilities.

The UN Tourism Executive Director, Natalia Bayona, emphasized the necessity of cultivating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Caribbean. She mentioned, “We identify solutions and build a pipeline of entrepreneurs capable of addressing critical challenges in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.” This approach is designed to stimulate a rapidly evolving start-up culture driven by stronger cross-Caribbean cooperation.
