Prince George Faces Closure of Two Clothing Stores

Prince George residents are facing potential changes in local clothing retail options as two popular stores may soon close. The company that owns both Bootlegger and Warehouse One is seeking approval to shut down 128 locations across Canada.
Closure Plans for Clothing Stores
Warehouse One Clothing Ltd. will submit a request to the Court of King’s Bench of Manitoba on Friday, May 15. This request is part of a process under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA), which allows companies to restructure their finances when debts exceed $5 million.
Impact on Prince George
In Prince George, the two retailers involved are:
- Warehouse One on 15th Ave
- Bootlegger at Pine Centre Mall
Alvarez & Marsal Canada Inc., the financial management firm overseeing the situation, has stated that gift cards, returns, and exchanges will be accepted until Wednesday, May 13. After this date, all sales will be final.
Background on Company Struggles
Earlier, reports indicated that Comark Holdings Inc. entered creditor protection while planning to continue operations of the Ricki’s location in Prince George. However, the future of Bootlegger remains unclear as the company pursues creditor protection.
While Warehouse One has expressed intentions regarding its business, specific responses from local store employees have been limited. One employee mentioned that nine staff members are employed at the Bootlegger location, but further comments were unavailable due to the manager’s absence.
As developments unfold, more information will be shared to keep the Prince George community informed about the future of these clothing stores.
