Misha Donskov has been appointed as the head coach for Canada’s National Men’s Team and National Junior Team. This decision was announced by Hockey Canada on Thursday. His new role will span three major events through the 2026-27 season.

Donskov will take charge of the coaching staff for both national teams. His international coaching debut will occur at the 2026 IIHF World Championship. This tournament will be held in Zürich and Fribourg, Switzerland.

Donskov’s Coaching Background
Before this appointment, Misha Donskov served as an assistant coach for the Dallas Stars during the 2023-25 seasons. His earlier career included over three years as an assistant coach with the Vegas Golden Knights and four years as their director of hockey operations. Notably, he was part of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 2023.

Donskov spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He was with the London Knights from 2009-12 and the Ottawa 67s from 2012-14. He played a crucial role in winning the OHL championship in 2012 while serving as London’s assistant general manager and assistant coach.
