On a vibrant Friday in Las Vegas, Bruno Mars was officially crowned the “new king of Las Vegas.” This recognition came during a lively parade along the famous Las Vegas Strip, where Mars arrived in a pink low-rider, flanked by two dazzling showgirls.

The city declared this day as “Bruno Mars Day” in honor of the artist’s substantial contributions to the entertainment scene. Additionally, a section of the Strip will now be named “Bruno Mars Drive,” solidifying his place among legendary performers.
Honoring a Legend
Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International, praised Mars for his impressive ability to captivate audiences and sustain a long-lasting presence in Las Vegas.

- He has completed more than 140 shows during his residency from 2016 to 2025.

With this honorary title, Mars joins the ranks of other musical icons such as Elvis Presley and members of the Rat Pack, including Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Mars expressed gratitude to the city, stating, “It’s such a privilege, and I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for giving me this today.”
Charitable Contributions and Performance
In addition to his accolades, Bruno Mars made a noteworthy commitment to the community by pledging $1 million to the Las Vegas Children’s Hospital. MGM Grand, a key partner, will match this generous donation, furthering Mars’s impact on local health care.
The event concluded with a brief performance featuring Mars and his band, “The Hooligans.” Excited fans gathered to experience a preview of Mars’s upcoming concert at Allegiant Stadium that same night.
