Alain Crête, a prominent figure in Quebec sports broadcasting, has announced his retirement after over 30 years at RDS. His last assignment will be a Montreal Canadiens game on April 14, followed by matches in the IIHF World Men’s Championship, culminating in the gold medal game on May 31.

Crête’s sports journalism career began in 1979 at CKCV radio as a news reader. He later became the voice of the Quebec Nordiques and joined TQS in 1985, where he hosted shows like Hockey Plus. In 1993, he began his long-lasting journey with RDS, taking on multiple roles and contributing significantly to numerous programs.
Notably, he was the first host of L’Antichambre in 2008. He also served as the anchor for major international sporting events, including the Summer Olympics in Sydney 2000 and Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City 2002. For the past two decades, he has been the face of Canadiens hockey coverage at RDS.
