This attack occurred while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was en route to Istanbul for discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The strikes involved a significant number of drones, with the Ukrainian Air Force reporting that Russia launched 286 drones overnight. Of these, Ukrainian defenses successfully intercepted 260.

  • Location of Fatalities: The city of Nikopol, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, experienced the most tragic impact, with five fatalities—three women and two men.
  • Injuries: Among the 19 injured in Nikopol, a 14-year-old girl was among those affected.
  • Other Affected Areas:

Russian Defense Ministry’s Claims

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that their military operations involved “long-range air- and ground-based precision weapons, as well as strike drones,” targeting various military-industrial and energy facilities linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Incidents in Russia

Noteworthy incidents occurred within Russia as well. In the Rostov region, one individual was killed, and four others were injured due to a fire at a logistics facility. An additional fire broke out on a foreign-flagged dry-cargo vessel several kilometers offshore. Furthermore, in Tolyatti, located in the Samara region, one person reported injuries after damages to a residential building, which included a compromised roof and shattered windows.

This situation underscores the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, marked by continuous military strikes and significant impacts on civilian populations in both countries.
