Islamabad Airport Alters Flight Schedule for Operational Reasons: PAA

On a recent Friday, security sources reported that two rudimentary drones were intercepted near Rawalpindi. These drones were successfully neutralized through electronic countermeasures. Fortunately, there were no damages or casualties from the incident. As a precaution, the airspace was temporarily closed but has now been reopened.

Islamabad Airport Flight Schedule Adjustments

In light of these events, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a statement regarding flight operations at Islamabad International Airport. Initially, a post on the social media platform X stated there was a “brief operational adjustment,” leading to speculation about a closure of the airport.

Clarification from the Pakistan Airports Authority

Despite preliminary reports, the PAA later clarified that there was no closure of Islamabad’s airspace. They labeled claims of the closure as “baseless.”

  • Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport continue without any interruptions.
  • All flights are reportedly operating according to their scheduled times.

The PAA urged the public to avoid unverified reports. They advised that official channels should be the primary source for accurate information regarding airport operations.
