Cheltenham Track Softens for Gold Cup Day After Overnight Rainfall

The ground conditions at Cheltenham have shifted for Gold Cup Day due to significant rainfall. The course reported 12mm of rain over the last 24 hours, with an additional 10mm falling overnight. This change has altered the track from its previous condition of good to good with soft patches.
Cheltenham Track Conditions Update
At 6:45 AM, Jon Pullin, the clerk of the course, provided an update on the track’s status. He noted:
- The chase course is now classified as good to soft, with soft spots.
- The hurdles course is soft, with good to soft areas.
The Cheltenham Festival’s final day is set to kick off at 1:20 PM, featuring the JCB Triumph Hurdle. The highly anticipated Boodles Gold Cup will take place at 4 PM. A field of 11 horses will compete in this premier event, with Gaelic Warrior and The Jukebox Man currently favored to win.
