Suspect Charged, Three at Large in Mississauga Kidnapping and Assault

A violent kidnapping incident in Mississauga has resulted in the arrest of a suspect, while three others remain at large. The case dates back to November 27, 2024, when a 26-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and forced into a pickup truck.
Details of the Incident
According to Peel Regional Police, the attack occurred around 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Windwood Drive and Bucklepost Crescent. The victim was assaulted by four individuals, who then abducted him in a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Police reports indicate that he was held captive for several hours and subjected to continuous abuse while being extorted for money.
Victim’s Release
The victim was ultimately released near Loyalist Drive after the suspects stole his phone. Despite the prolonged assault, fortunately, he did not sustain any lasting physical injuries.
Arrest and Investigation
Constable Tyler Bell-Morena from Peel Regional Police discussed the intricacies of the investigation. A key factor in solving the case was the discovery of the victim’s stolen cell phone, which was later located in a separate investigation by another police department. This breakthrough significantly aided the efforts to identify the suspect.
Charges Filed
On December 4, police charged 24-year-old Mohamad Rayyan Dassut of Mississauga with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, forcible confinement, and robbery. At the time of his arrest, Dassut was already incarcerated for unrelated offenses and under probationary conditions.
Three Suspects Still At Large
While one suspect has been apprehended, three others remain at large. Police are encouraging these individuals to seek legal representation and turn themselves in. Constable Bell emphasized the persistence of the investigation, noting, “It’s just a matter of time, especially with the diligent detective working on this case.”
