IRN-BRU-Themed Dishes Delight at Glasgow Carnival

A unique culinary collaboration has brought a delightful twist to the festive experience in Glasgow. The IRN-BRU Carnival, recognized as Europe’s largest indoor funfair, has partnered with Clydebuilt Restaurant to launch limited-edition dishes inspired by Scotland’s iconic soft drink.

IRN-BRU Carnival Details

The 106th edition of the IRN-BRU Carnival commenced on December 19 and will run until January 11. This highly anticipated event features an array of family-friendly activities held entirely indoors at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). Visitors can enjoy more than 75 rides and attractions suitable for all ages.

Exclusive IRN-BRU-Themed Dishes

During the carnival, attendees can savor three IRN-BRU-themed offerings:

  • IRN-BRU Pakora – £9 (includes 4 pieces)
  • IRN-BRU Cheesecake
  • Mr Whippy-style Soft-Serve Ice Cream

Allan Gray-Smith, the general manager of SEC Food, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the exclusive nature of these themed dishes during the festive season. The carnival is well-known for its family-oriented atmosphere, enhanced further by a special promotion where children can eat for just £1 when an adult meal is purchased.

Inclusive Experiences at the Carnival

Inclusivity remains a priority at the IRN-BRU Carnival. Special autism-friendly sessions are scheduled for December 28 and January 5, designed to accommodate visitors with sensory processing differences. During these times, adjustments will be made to the environment, including maintained lighting and reduced music volume.

Advance tickets for the IRN-BRU Carnival are priced from £14, allowing access to the wide variety of rides and activities. Children under three can enter free of charge, making it an ideal outing for families looking to enjoy a festive day out.
