Met Office Warns of Weekend Rainfall

Residents in parts of north Wales, northwest England, and southwest Scotland are urged to prepare for significant rainfall this weekend. The Met Office has issued Yellow National Severe Weather Warnings for Saturday and Sunday due to anticipated heavy and persistent rain.
Rainfall Forecast
From Saturday through Sunday, heavy rain is expected to move in from the west. The rainfall will gradually ease by Sunday afternoon and evening. A total of 30 mm or more of rain is likely in the warning areas, with even higher totals possible in upland regions.
- Persistent rain starting Saturday
- Rain expected to ease Sunday afternoon
- Potential rainfall totals of 30 mm+
- Higher amounts possible in elevated areas
- Strong south-westerly winds may occur
Travel Disruptions and Flooding Risks
Rebekah Hicks, Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, noted the potential for travel disruptions and localized flooding. The prolonged rainfall on already saturated ground could exacerbate these issues. Residents should remain alert and prepared for changing conditions.
