Corner Canyon High School students are energized as their football team prepares for the national high school championship in Baltimore. The Chargers will face the highly ranked St. Frances Academy in this groundbreaking match on Wednesday.

Support from Home for Corner Canyon Football Team

While the team competes over 1,900 miles away, students in Utah are demonstrating their support with watch parties and spirited events. A senior, Beckham Gharring, expressed confidence in their team’s ability, stating, “I think the Corner Canyon boys will easily defeat St. Frances Academy.”

This championship is a significant moment not just for the school but also for the Draper community and the entire state of Utah. Kelley Dunn, another senior, highlighted the event’s importance, stating, “This is not only a big deal for our school but just a big deal for the city, for our state, and really puts us on a national level.”

Alumni Support and National Recognition

The excitement has even caught the attention of notable alumni like Jaxson Dart, quarterback for the New York Giants. His brother will be playing in the championship game. During a recent podcast, Dart praised the opportunity for the team, saying, “What a great opportunity for them to go play and compete at the highest level against a great team.”
