Miss Guadeloupe Outshines Miss France in Miss Universe Rankings

In a stunning outcome at the 74th edition of the Miss Universe pageant held in Thailand, Fatima Bosch from Mexico claimed the prestigious title of Miss Universe 2025. This marked a significant moment for Bosch, who faced criticism throughout the competition. Notably, the results were illuminating for representatives from France, particularly Ophély Mézino and Eve Gilles.
Miss Guadeloupe’s Exceptional Performance
Ophély Mézino, representing Guadeloupe, delivered an impressive performance by securing a place in the top 12. This achievement set her apart from Eve Gilles, Miss France 2024, who managed to reach the top 30. The competition featured over 138 candidates, making the accomplishment of both contestants remarkable.
- Miss Guadeloupe: Ophély Mézino – Top 12
- Miss France: Eve Gilles – Top 30
- Finalists: Miss Thailand, Miss Philippines, Miss Venezuela, and Miss Côte d’Ivoire also performed excellently.
Recognition and Support
Before the finals, Mézino expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to represent Guadeloupe, stating, “I will never thank you enough for allowing me to represent this beautiful island.” Following the competition, feedback from former Miss France winners was overwhelmingly positive. Flora Coquerel, Miss France 2014, praised Mézino as “perfect,” while support for Gilles came from Amandine Petit, Miss France 2021, and Indira Ampiot, Miss France 2023.
Looking Ahead to Miss France 2026
