Jessica Campbell, the assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken, is breaking new ground in the NHL. In her second season with the team, Campbell continues to make history as the first woman to serve as an assistant coach in the league. Her promotion from the Kraken’s AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, exemplifies the growing opportunities for women in leadership roles within hockey.
Goal of Returning to the Playoffs
This season, the Seattle Kraken are determined to secure a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second time in their five-season history. As of their upcoming match against the Edmonton Oilers, the Kraken hold a record of 32 wins, 29 losses, and 11 overtime losses. They are just two points behind the Nashville Predators, who have a record of 34 wins, 31 losses, and 9 overtime losses.
