Since joining The Chase in 2015, Jenny has established herself as a prominent quizzer. Her journey in the quiz circuit dates back over two decades, with early appearances in University Challenge and Only Connect in 2010.
Frustrations on The Weakest Link
During a conversation on the Final FronTia podcast with drag performer Tia Kofi, Jenny recounted her disappointing experience on The Weakest Link. Despite being a strong contender throughout the rounds, she was surprisingly voted out in a tactical move right before the final.
Jenny revealed her disappointment, stating, “I still have a lot of bitterness about The Weakest Link because I went on that as a civilian many years ago and was voted out second to last.” She emphasized her strong performance but noted that others may have strategically targeted her. “They knew I was better, and I was furious,” she added.
The Road to The Chase
Jenny’s ascent to stardom in The Chase wasn’t without its challenges. Joining the show required enduring a rigorous selection process, which included six months of auditions, tests, and interviews. Reflecting on her experience, she humorously stated that getting onto The Chase was “harder than getting into MI6.”
Jenny is now one of several Chasers, joining the ranks of well-known quizzers such as Mark Labbett and Anne Hegerty. Darragh Ennis was the most recent addition to this elite team in 2020.
