Santa Claus Visits Waterloo Region This Weekend

This weekend, the Waterloo Region is set to embrace the festive spirit with a series of Santa Claus parades and holiday events. Despite the earlier snowfall, the weather is expected to be warmer but wet, reminiscent of autumn, especially during the K-W and Cambridge parades.
Weather Forecast for the Weekend
The weekend weather will be changeable. On Saturday, temperatures are predicted to reach a high of 11°C. However, thunderstorm risks will accompany the day.
According to 570’s Weather Specialist Denise Andreacchi, “The active weather pattern is not letting up.” Those attending the parades should brace for wet conditions.
Santa Claus Parades Schedule
- K-W Santa Claus Parade: Begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. starting from Frederick Street in Kitchener, moving along Weber Street to Erb Street in Waterloo.
- Cambridge Santa Claus Parade: Set for Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m., this parade will start at Dunbar Road and follow Hespeler Road to Langs Drive.
Sunday’s Weather Update
On Sunday, a shift in weather is anticipated, making it feel more wintry. A high of 5°C and a low of -1°C will be recorded. Winds may gust between 60 to 70 kilometers per hour, prompting the potential for a special weather statement.
Holiday Activities Across Waterloo Region
Families can enjoy various activities this weekend, including opportunities to meet Santa Claus. He will be visiting local malls, such as:
- Conestoga Mall in Waterloo
- Stone Road Mall in Guelph
Both locations will feature Santa on Saturday, November 15.

- Rockway Christmas Market: Taking place at the Rockway Centre in Kitchener from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
- Snowflake Bazaar: Located at the Breithaupt Centre in Kitchener, running from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
