Apple’s New $200 iPhone Sock Accessory Unavailable for Purchase

Apple recently announced a unique new accessory: the iPhone Pocket, which draws inspiration from the classic iPod sock. This latest iteration, created in collaboration with the renowned Japanese brand ISSEY MIYAKE, introduces innovative designs and functionality.
Overview of the iPhone Pocket
The iPhone Pocket comes in two distinct styles: a compact purse-like design and a versatile crossbody version. Both options are crafted from a single piece of knitted fabric, showcasing intricate patterns and a vibrant color palette.
Color Variations and Design Features
- The short strap version is available in eight different colors.
- The crossbody variant comes in three color options.
- Available colors include dark blue, brown, and black.
Both versions also include a handle for easier carrying, and the Pocket can expand slightly to accommodate additional items alongside your iPhone.
Limited Availability
Apple’s release of the iPhone Pocket will be notably limited. It will be distributed across only ten store locations, primarily in Asia and Europe.
- The only store in the United States stocking this accessory is the Apple Store in SoHo, New York.
Pricing Details
The iPhone Pocket’s pricing reflects its exclusivity. The smaller purse-style option retails for $149, while the larger crossbody model is priced at $229. In Canadian dollars, these prices are approximately C$208 and C$320, respectively.
Resale Potential
Due to its limited release and stylish design, the iPhone Pocket is expected to become a coveted item. As a result, early purchasers may find significant resale opportunities.
In contrast, the only alternative currently available in Canada is the Apple CrossBody strap, which, while functional, lacks the distinctive charm of the iPhone Pocket.
