Three years ago, Stowers faced a challenging period. After a workout organized by his father, Donald Stowers, he struggled with the reality of no longer being able to play quarterback due to injuries. Overwhelmed, he confided in his father, expressing doubts about his future in football.
Donald Stowers, a former high school football coach, encouraged Eli by pointing out his physical attributes—standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 220 pounds with explosive speed. “You can play any position you want,” he reminded him.
From High School Stardom to College Football
Eli Stowers was a top recruit at Denton Guyer, where he was known for both his passing and athleticism. He accumulated impressive statistics during his high school career, passing for 6,945 yards and rushing for 3,323 yards across three seasons. This success led him to Texas A&M University, where he initially played as a quarterback.
