Historic Rancho Cucamonga Winery Reopens, Honoring Original Founders with New Name

D’Ellena Winery in Rancho Cucamonga has reopened, creating excitement in the local wine community. Previously known as the Regina Winery, this historic site was established in 1916. Under new ownership by National CORE, the winery is honoring its original founders, the Ellena brothers, through its name change.
New Beginnings at D’Ellena Winery
The winery resumed operations with Ryan Pedvin as the head winemaker. Pedvin, who began his winemaking career in 2018, is committed to sourcing grapes exclusively from local Rancho Cucamonga and Santa Barbara growers. This connection to the region is central to the winery’s philosophy.
Upcoming Wine Varieties
- Zinfandel
- Palomino
- White Zinfandel
Pedvin announced that the winery will produce a limited batch of red Zinfandel made from grapes from Lopez Ranch, located nearby. The white Zinfandel will come from the D’Ellena property’s own vineyards. The process of harvesting to fermentation and aging may take between six to 18 months, with wines expected to be available by early spring 2026.
Plans for the Future
Since its transition in February 2025, National CORE has focused on revitalizing the property while retaining its historical essence. The development plan includes:
- On-site winemaking
- A new tasting room experience
- Restoration of the vineyards
- Addition of indoor and outdoor event spaces
- A pocket park with a wine tasting booth
- A family- and dog-friendly outdoor area
- An on-site museum highlighting the Cucamonga Valley’s wine history
Jill Van Balen, National CORE’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, stated that the organization aims to preserve the winery’s legacy while establishing it as a central community hub.
