Mumford & Sons showcased an unforgettable performance at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The band invited surprise guests Lainey Wilson and Sierra Ferrell, adding excitement to their headlining show. The collaboration led to some special moments in their setlist.
Mumford & Sons Perform with Lainey Wilson and Sierra Ferrell
During the concert, Sierra Ferrell joined the band to perform a heartfelt cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You.” This appearance occurred in the middle of the set, enhancing the already vibrant atmosphere.
Later, Lainey Wilson took the stage just before the encore. Wilson opened her segment with her hit song, “Things a Man Oughta Know.” Following this, she and the band delivered a one-mic duet of the deep cut “Awake My Soul” from their album Sigh No More.
Audience Reaction
Wilson expressed her enthusiasm for the performance, stating, “I am having the time of my life, I am these guys’ biggest fan.” She conveyed her appreciation to the audience, urging them to feel the love shared on stage.
Tour and Upcoming Collaborations
This collaboration was not the first between Mumford & Sons and Wilson. In September, they performed “Things a Man Oughta Know” together in New Orleans as part of the Railroad Revival Tour. During that event, the band also delivered a lively rendition of Shania Twain’s “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.”
Wilson later humorously commented on social media, “Can it be Mumford & Sons + one new sister now?” illustrating the strong connections formed during their performances.
As they continue their tour supporting their latest album, Rushmere, Mumford & Sons will soon move to Austin. Upcoming dates will also take them to Tulsa and Omaha, concluding the North American leg of their tour.
New Music Release
This week, the band is set to release “Rubber Band Man,” a collaboration with Hozier. The song premiered live in Buffalo, with its official release slated for October 24. The last appearance of Hozier with Mumford & Sons was at the 2023 Austin City Limits, where they performed “Awake My Soul.”
