Despite the growing interest surrounding him, Lea emphasizes that his current focus remains on his team. The Commodores hold a 6-1 record, with a notable matchup against No. 14 Missouri scheduled.

Understanding the potential emotional toll of rumors, Lea took the proactive step to speak with his 13-year-old son, Clark III. He wanted to prepare him for the possibility of facing questions about their family’s future.
“Rumors can surface from anywhere,” Lea noted in an interview with The Tennessean on October 23. “I wanted my son to be aware and not be caught off guard at school.”
Lea’s Vision for Vanderbilt Football
Clark Lea remains resolute in his aspirations for Vanderbilt’s football program. “My goal has always been to build a championship-level program at Vanderbilt,” he stated. He emphasized specific strategies they have implemented and continue to develop to achieve this objective.

Vanderbilt Athletic Director Candice Lee has voiced strong support for Lea’s leadership. “My goal is for Clark Lea to be my first and last football coach,” she asserted, highlighting her long-term vision for the program.
