19 TV Channels to Disappear from Sky and Virgin Media This October

Sky and Virgin Media are set to undergo significant changes in October 2023. Twenty channels will disappear or change names on their platforms, creating a notable shift for viewers.

Upcoming Channel Changes

Starting from October 1, Sky Feel Good will revert to its original title, Sky Greats. The channel has been part of the lineup for over two decades.

Additionally, Movies 24 and Movies 24+ will temporarily be renamed to Christmas 24 and Christmas 24+ for the festive season. Sky 20s will be temporarily called Halloween HD, and Sky Sci-Fi & Horror will change to Sky Sci-Fi HD.

  • October 6: Nick Jr Peppa is permanently renamed to Nick Jr. Too. It will move from channel 613 to 612 on satellite.
  • October 16: Additional channel moves include:
    • POP: From 614 to 613
    • Tiny Pop: From 615 to 614
    • Nickelodeon+1: From 616 to 615
    • RTE Jr: From 617 to 616
    • POP+1: From 618 to 617
    • Tiny Pop+1: From 619 to 618
    • Nick Jr+1: From 622 to 619
    • Nickelodeon HD: From 623 to 620
    • RTÉjr (NI) / Cúla4 HD: From 624 to 621
    • Nick Jr HD: From 625 to 622
    • BabyTV: From 626 to 623
    • Cúla4 HD (NI): From 627 to 624
    • Nick Jr. HD: From 645 to 643
  • October 23: Sky Family will temporarily swap with Sky Halloween.
  • October 24: Sky Family will change to HarryPotterHD, while Sky Animation will become kungfupandaHD. Sky Cinema Hits will be named Sky Spooky HD.
  • October 27: Sky KungFuPandaHD will revert to SkyAnimationHD.
  • October 30: Sky Sci-Fi will move to channel 152. Crime+Investigation in Scotland will shift to channels 139/140. Sky Arts ROI will close permanently, replaced by Sky Arts UK.
  • October 31: WION HD will permanently close, vanishing from the EPG.

Closure of Long-Standing Channels

Sky Replay and its variants will also cease operations after 22 years. This channel was popular for rewatching programs like A League Of Their Own and SEAL Team. Viewers can access their favorite shows through alternative means.
