Laurence Fishburne expressed his interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically the upcoming X-Men reboot. His comments came during his appearance at the recent New York Comic Con.

During a panel discussion, Fishburne noted, “I know that they’re talking about the X-Men now.” He suggested himself for the role of Charles Xavier, saying, “What do you think about Laurence Fishburne as Professor X?”

Marvel’s X-Men Plans

Marvel is indeed moving forward with plans for an X-Men reboot. This project will be directed by Jake Schreier, known for his work on *Thunderbolts*. The acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney in 2019 made the X-Men characters available to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition, characters from previous X-Men films are set to return in the upcoming movie *Avengers: Doomsday*, which is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Notable returns include:

When asked if he would consider joining Star Wars, he replied, “No, I’m good.” Fishburne expressed his enjoyment of the franchise from a viewer’s perspective, stating, “I’m in the middle of Rebels now, man.”

For now, Fishburne seems focused on his prospects with Marvel, particularly eyeing a significant role in the X-Men reboot he hopes to be a part of.
