Recently, the grocery chain announced the transfer of ownership of 32 Winn-Dixie stores and eight Harvey’s Supermarkets located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. This change is part of their strategic realignment.

  • Winn-Dixie has operated 20 stores in Alabama.

Future of Winn-Dixie

After the store closures, Winn-Dixie will operate approximately 130 grocery stores and 140 liquor stores in Florida and Georgia. Earlier this year, the company had already closed four locations in three different Alabama cities.

Aldi is also making changes by converting 220 acquired Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s stores into its own locations, including those within Alabama.
