Ex-Auburn Cornerback Rejoins Washington Commanders

Jonathan Jones, a former Auburn cornerback, is set to return to the Washington Commanders’ active roster. After a four-game stint on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, Jones will be available for the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Jones had been sidelined since Washington’s second game of the season. The team reinstated him on Saturday, allowing him to rejoin the secondary. Prior to his injury, he made contributions by playing 22 defensive snaps and participating in 21 special-teams plays during the first two games of the season.

The athlete joined the Commanders after spending nine successful seasons with the New England Patriots, where he secured two Super Bowl titles. His contract with Washington is a one-year deal worth $5.5 million, which includes a $2.5 million signing bonus and $4.5 million in guaranteed money.
