UK Ticket-holder Claims ‘Life-changing’ £26M EuroMillions Jackpot

A single ticket-holder in the UK has triumphed, claiming the remarkable £26 million EuroMillions jackpot, as confirmed by the National Lottery. The winning combination drawn on Friday night consisted of the primary numbers 06, 12, 18, 25, and 41, with Lucky Stars 02 and 06.
Significant Wins in 2023
This victory marks the third EuroMillions jackpot win in the UK this year, out of a total of ten jackpots. Earlier wins included a staggering £83 million in January and a £65 million prize on Valentine’s Day, both by winners who opted to remain anonymous.
Waiting Winners
Meanwhile, a separate £10.6 million Lotto jackpot from Saturday remains unclaimed. Andy Carter, a senior adviser at the National Lottery operator Allwyn, has encouraged players to check their tickets and emails to ensure they don’t miss out on their potential winnings.
Winning Lotto Numbers
- Main numbers: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59
- Bonus number: 42
Carter emphasized, “We will be on hand to give advice and offer access to experts who can help winners make the most of their win for themselves and those close to them.” The EuroMillions win will undergo verification according to the game’s terms and conditions before the winner can decide to go public.
The Bigger Picture
Although the £26 million win represents a life-changing sum, it does not rank among the highest EuroMillions jackpots. To enter the top ten list, a prize exceeding £183 million would be necessary. The largest prize awarded to a UK player was £195 million in 2022.
Unclaimed Prizes
It’s noteworthy that while winning the lottery is challenging, many prizes go unclaimed. Last year, a player in Rhondda Cynon Taf missed out on a £1 million EuroMillions prize after failing to claim it within the 180-day limit. Consequently, the funds were allocated to National Lottery-funded projects.
The largest unclaimed EuroMillions prize in the UK reached £63.8 million in June 2012. The EuroMillions draw takes place every Tuesday and Friday, spanning nine European countries.
