According to Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh of the Achole Police Station, the incident took place between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Sanchita had locked herself in her bedroom and was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a saree.
Family members and locals attempted to revive her, rushing her to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Following the incident, police conducted their investigation and prepared an inquest report prior to the post-mortem examination.
Legal Proceedings
In response to Sanchita’s death, her father, Machhindra Ugale, filed a complaint, prompting the Achole Police to register an Accidental Death Report (ADR). This report was filed under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15, further contributing to the ongoing examination of the circumstances surrounding her death.
