New Friday Schedule Announced for Senior TT Event

The 2026 Senior TT Event at the Isle of Man is undergoing significant changes due to adverse weather conditions. Organizers have announced a new schedule that moves the Senior TT race to Friday instead of Saturday, while also reducing its length from six laps to four. This decision was made on Wednesday and further refined on Thursday amid heavy rain and fog affecting the race week.
Revised Friday Schedule for the Senior TT Event
The Senior TT, known as the marquee race of the event, will now take place alongside the three-lap Supersport TT and the two-lap Sportsbike TT on Friday. These adjustments came after organizers assessed the impact of the weather on the previously planned schedule.
Friday Schedule Overview
- 10:30 AM – Free Practice [1 lap]
- 11:45 AM – Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2 [3 laps]
- 2:15 PM – Carole Nash Sportbike TT Race 1 [2 laps]
- 4:15 PM – Milwaukee Senior TT [4 laps]
Weather Impact and Future Contingencies
On Thursday morning, race officials confirmed that poor weather would limit the Superstock category to only one race in 2026. TT Clerk of Course Gary Thompson stated that the forecast for low cloud, rainfall, and persistent showers forced them to make difficult decisions. “I’ve had to take the decision today to cancel the activities due to the inclement weather,” Thompson said.
As the weekend approaches, Saturday’s originally scheduled events now include a second sportsbike race and a Superstock race, contingent upon weather conditions improving. Organizers are actively monitoring the situation and may consider Sunday as an alternative racing day if Saturday is affected by further rain.
Saturday Schedule Overview
- 11:00 AM – Carole Nash Sportbike TT Race 2 [3 laps]
- 2:00 PM – RL360 Superstock TT Race [3 laps]
Potential Sunday Schedule
Should Saturday face postponements, the schedule for Sunday would be:
- 1:30 PM – Carole Nash Sportbike TT Race 2 [3 laps]
- 3:45 PM – RL360 Superstock TT Race [3 laps]
The organizers acknowledge the disappointment felt by competitors, teams, and spectators due to the unfavorable weather. They remain committed to maximizing opportunities for racing, given the current conditions.
