National Theatre Finalizes Cast for “The Story” UK Premiere

The UK premiere of “The Story,” a powerful newsroom drama by Tracey Scott Wilson, is set to launch at the National Theatre. Directed by Clint Dyer, this production represents the play’s first appearance in the UK. Originally produced in New York in 2003, it was a finalist for the 2002 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.

This gripping play centers around four journalists racing to uncover the truth following the murder of a white teacher in a Black neighborhood. As they delve deeper, they face personal and ethical dilemmas about the lengths they will go to in pursuit of their story.

“The Story” will run at the National Theatre’s Olivier theatre from 27 August to 24 October 2026. The production promises to address timely issues with its thought-provoking narrative.
