Charges Filed Following Bay Street Business Robbery

Sault Ste. Marie authorities have taken action following a robbery at a business located on Bay Street. The incident occurred around midday on a recent Saturday.
Details of the Bay Street Business Robbery
On Saturday, at approximately 11:50 a.m., police received a 911 call about a robbery in the 400 block of Bay Street. Officers quickly arrived on the scene.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, identified later as Corey McIntyre, entered the business and stole items. When confronted by an employee, he allegedly punched the worker and fled the scene.
Return and Vandalism
McIntyre reportedly returned to the premises to cause further damage before leaving once again. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during these incidents.
Arrest and Charges
Police located McIntyre nearby soon after the robbery. A search of the suspect uncovered approximately one gram of suspected fentanyl.
Corey McIntyre, 33, has been charged with several offenses:
- Robbery
- Mischief – Under $5,000
- Possession of Schedule I substance (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
It is important to note that none of these allegations have been tested in court. McIntyre is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
