Music composer Sajid Khan narrowly escaped a serious injury during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. The incident occurred when a powerful cricket ball almost struck him while attending the match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Sajid Khan’s Close Call at the IPL Match

Sajid Khan, part of the renowned music duo Sajid-Wajid, shared details of his frightening experience. In a video he posted while wearing a Punjab Kings jersey, Sajid discussed the close call that left him with minor scratches and swelling.

The Incident

  • Sajid was seated when he noticed the cricket ball heading towards him.
  • He attempted to catch the ball but got his foot caught in the chair.
  • Reacting quickly, he jumped to avoid the ball, which narrowly missed him.

“I thought, ‘I have the catch,’ but my left foot got stuck,” Sajid explained in the video. He added, “I’ve seen so many movies. I told myself to jump. I knew it would hurt less than being hit directly.”

Minor Injuries and Recovery

Fortunately, Sajid emerged with only minor injuries, but the incident impacted him. He described feeling pain and swelling but reassured his fans, saying, “I’m fine. Your brother is strong.” In his caption, he humorously remarked, “Bach gaye nawabsahab hahahaha. Yes, it was dangerous, but sixth sense… just jump.”

Sajid-Wajid Legacy

Sajid Khan is well-known for his contributions to the Indian film music scene. The pair first gained recognition for scoring music for Salman Khan’s film “Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya” in 1998. They continued to create memorable tracks, including the IPL 4 theme song “Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka.” Sadly, Wajid Khan passed away in 2020 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 42.

This recent near-miss at the IPL serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of live sports, where excitement can quickly turn into danger. Thankfully, Sajid Khan’s quick thinking allowed him to avoid serious harm, and he remains a beloved figure in the music industry.
