South Korea Selects Three Bundesliga Players for World Cup Battle

South Korea will field a strong team at the upcoming World Cup, including three players from the Bundesliga. The tournament is set to take place in 2026 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Bundesliga Players Selected
The selected players are:
- Min-jae Kim (Bayern Munich)
- Jae-sung Lee (Mainz)
- Jens Castrop (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Coaching and Leadership
National coach Myung-bo Hong will lead the team, which will be spearheaded by captain Heung-min Son. Son is a former player for Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen, currently playing for LAFC in Major League Soccer. This World Cup marks his fourth participation.
Group Stage Challenge
In the tournament, South Korea will compete in Group A against:

- South Africa
Jens Castrop’s Eligibility
Jens Castrop, born in Düsseldorf, has only recently become eligible to play for South Korea since last August. Previously, he had represented all German youth national teams, including four appearances for the U21 squad.
