Authorities have closed the M2 eastbound following a serious lorry-pedestrian collision. The incident occurred near junction three at Chatham, Kent, around 2 PM on Thursday, May 14.

M2 Eastbound Closure Details

The M2 remains shut between junctions 3 and 4 due to ongoing investigations and a medical emergency. Drivers should seek alternative routes while the situation is managed.

Alternative Routes

A diversion has been set up for motorists affected by the closure:

  • Exit the M2 at junction 3 and follow the solid circle diversion symbol.
  • Take the third exit onto the A229.
  • Travel 300 meters to Lord Lee’s Roundabout.
  • At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A229 south towards Maidstone.
  • Continue for about 2.5 miles to join the M20 eastbound at junction 6.
  • Remain on the M20 for just over a mile. Exit at junction 7.
  • Take the first exit onto the A249 north.
  • Continue for 5.5 miles to rejoin the M2 at junction 5.
