Isidoro and Norma, both originally from Mexico, had been previously deported from the U.S. after entering the country illegally. In April, in a desperate bid to be with Kevin, they attempted to reenter the U.S. but were detained by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) near Douglas, Arizona. They spent weeks in detention before being deported back to Mexico.
