Audi Q9: Luxurious Seven-Seater Revolutionizes Family Travel
Audi is set to unveil the Audi Q9, its luxurious new flagship SUV, at the end of July. This model will be the largest in its lineup, measuring over 5.3 meters in length and featuring three rows of seating. Initial images reveal a highly sophisticated interior design, although the vehicle itself is currently shown only in camouflage. The Q9 will likely be available with combustion engines as well as plug-in hybrid options.
Audi’s Continued Model Revolution
The introduction of the Q9 marks another step in Audi’s comprehensive model refresh. In 2026, the company plans to launch two electric models: the Q4 e-tron SUV and the A2 e-tron sedan. Additionally, the third generation of the Q7 SUV will debut shortly, featuring similar technology and design elements found in the Q9. To make room for these new models, the Audi A8 sedan will be discontinued due to low demand.
Target Market and Pricing
Built in Bratislava, Slovakia, the Q9 is aimed primarily at the U.S. market. The starting price is anticipated to be around €100,000, although further technical specifications have yet to be confirmed.
Interior Luxury and Comfort Features
The Q9’s interior is designed as a retreat for families and business travelers alike. It boasts high-end materials, including wool fabrics like alpaca and microfibers such as Dinamica. Various combinations of leather and synthetic leather will further enhance the luxurious feel. The dashboard features a panoramic display with an indirect lighting system that creates a floating effect.
Seating and Space Availability
- Seven seats arranged over three rows.
- Easy access to the third row.
- Comfortable seating for three child seats in the second row.
- Optional six-seat configuration with two individual adjustable seats in the middle row.
The Q9 also offers an expansive panoramic sunroof that can be opened wide for an open-air experience. The glass can switch to opaque mode at the push of a button, which activates automatically when the vehicle is parked to ensure privacy.
Innovative Accessibility Features
A standout feature is the electrically opening doors, which can be operated via a key, app, brake pedal, or seatbelt clasp. These doors open to a 90-degree angle, facilitating easy entry, especially with heavy items or strollers. Safety sensors will stop the doors before they hit any obstacles, enhancing convenience in tight parking spaces.
Advanced Technology Integration
In terms of technology, the Q9 flaunts a 4D sound system and a customizable ambient lighting system with 30 selectable colors. The versatile center console includes two wireless charging options and USB-C ports offering up to 100 watts. Ample storage compartments further enhance utility, although Audi has not yet revealed the trunk’s capacity.
The Audi Q9 promises to be a revolutionary addition to family travel, combining luxury, functionality, and advanced technology in a spacious seven-seater format. This model is set to redefine comfort and elegance in the SUV segment.
