Major Airline Launches Daily Long-Haul Flights from Manchester Airport

Singapore Airlines has announced a significant enhancement to its services from Manchester Airport, launching daily long-haul flights starting July 13. This shift from five-times weekly to daily service will provide passengers greater flexibility for travel to the Far East.

Details of the New Schedule

The direct route will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which accommodates a total of 253 passengers. The seating arrangement includes:

  • 42 seats in Business Class
  • 24 seats in Premium Economy Class
  • 187 seats in Economy Class

Importance of the Route

This development occurs as Singapore Airlines celebrates 40 years of operations at Manchester Airport. The airline originally began a twice-weekly service on March 31, 1986, and it remains the airport’s longest-standing long-haul carrier.

Singapore serves as a crucial travel hub for connections to Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and other destinations. This new daily service offers an appealing alternative for travelers seeking routes beyond Middle Eastern hubs like Abu Dhabi and Dubai, especially amid current geopolitical tensions.

Official Remarks

Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director of Manchester Airport, expressed pride in the ongoing partnership with Singapore Airlines. He highlighted the significant benefits this daily service brings to the North of England, enhancing business links and tourism opportunities. Woodroofe noted:

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming even more Singapore Airlines passengers when the additional services start this summer.”

Flight Schedule

The daily flight schedule features:

  • Departure from Manchester at 10:00 AM, arriving in Singapore at 7:15 AM the next day
  • Return flight from Singapore at 2:10 AM, landing in Manchester at 8:35 AM

Onboard Experience

Passengers can enjoy complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi during the flight. Business Class travelers will experience gourmet dining curated by Guest Chef Monica Galetti, complemented by a selection of award-winning wines. Premium Economy and Economy Class travelers can indulge in a signature dessert created by the same chef.

Wider Connectivity

Mohamed Rafi Mar, General Manager for the UK & Ireland at Singapore Airlines, emphasized the enhanced connectivity provided by this route, which connects passengers to over 130 destinations globally through Singapore. The airline aims to deliver exceptional service, gourmet meals, and engaging in-flight entertainment, making travel accessible and enjoyable for all customers.
