Victory at Myrtle Beach

Snedeker, who is 45 years old and currently serves as the captain of the United States Presidents Cup team, completed the tournament with a total of 72 holes at 18-under par, totaling 266 strokes. His performance took place at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

  • Final Score: 18-under 266
  • Winning Round: Five-under par 66
  • Runner-Up: Mark Hubbard, one stroke behind

Defining Moments

Snedeker birdied four of the last seven holes during his final round. However, he faced a challenging 18th hole, where he recorded his only bogey. “Eighteen was a disaster,” Snedeker remarked. Nonetheless, he expressed pride in his accomplishment, stating, “It’s really hard to win out here, so to be able to do it again at my age, at 45, is something super special.”

This victory grants Snedeker guaranteed playing rights on the PGA Tour for the next two seasons. “It’s such a cool feeling to know I’ll be at it for a couple more years,” he noted.

Future Plans for Snedeker

Despite his win, Snedeker clarified that he does not plan to participate as a playing captain in the upcoming Presidents Cup at Medinah. He stated, “I’m definitely not going to play in the Presidents Cup.” Instead, he intends to prepare for the PGA Championship at Aronimink, marking his return to majors after his last notable performance in the 2021 British Open.

Final Standings

In addition to Snedeker and Hubbard, the tournament featured several notable players:

  • 3rd Place: Beau Hossler and Kevin Roy (268)
  • 5th Place: Aaron Rai (270)

With many top players participating in the signature event at Quail Hollow, Snedeker’s win at the Myrtle Beach Classic stands as a highlight of the PGA season.
