John Prosser Highlights 6 Key Features of iPhone 18 Pro

Prosser’s analysis reveals significant expectations for the iPhone 18 Pro series, including changes in design, camera capabilities, and processing power.

1. Smaller Dynamic Island

One of the most discussed features is the reduction in size of the Dynamic Island. Despite earlier rumors suggesting the integration of Face ID beneath the screen, Prosser clarifies that the Dynamic Island will remain centrally positioned at the top of the display but will be smaller in dimensions.

2. Four Body Color Options

Prosser anticipates that the iPhone 18 Pro series will introduce four color options, expanding from three available in the iPhone 17 Pro. The expected colors are:

  • Light Blue
  • Dark Cherry
  • Dark Gray
  • Silver

Only the Silver variant will carry over from the previous model, making the other three options entirely new.

3. Variable Aperture on Wide-Angle Camera

The wide-angle camera is set to feature a variable aperture mechanism, which has the potential to significantly enhance image quality. This technology will likely provide a more natural background blur in portrait modes, reducing reliance on software processing.

4. Simplified Camera Control

Camera controls will be streamlined, removing capacitive sensors in favor of pressure-sensitive controls. While users can still activate the camera app and take photos via button presses, adjustments for exposure, depth of field, and zoom will no longer support swipe gestures. This change is expected to lower both manufacturing and repair costs.

5. Enhanced A20 Pro Chip

The iPhone 18 Pro series will be powered by the A20 Pro chip, offering a 15% increase in processing speed and a 30% improvement in efficiency compared to the A19 Pro. This upgrade hints at better performance and reduced power consumption.

The expected battery capacity for the iPhone 18 Pro Max is between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh, marking a nearly 2.2% increase over the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s capacity of 5,088mAh.

6. Advanced C2 Cellular Modem

Prosser highlights that the new C2 cellular modem will support 5G millimeter wave along with satellite communication capabilities. This modem is also projected to contribute to power efficiency, further enhancing user experience.

Looking ahead, Prosser is set to share further information about the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra in upcoming videos.
