MDA Achieves $29.6M Q1 Profit, Revenue Soars 32.2% Year-Over-Year

MDA Space Ltd. has reported a significant financial performance for the first quarter of 2026. The company announced a net income of $29.6 million, reflecting a year-over-year revenue increase of 32.2%.
MDA’s Impressive Q1 Financial Results
For the quarter ending on March 31, MDA achieved earnings of 22 cents per diluted share. This marks a decrease from last year’s profit of $32.9 million, or 26 cents per diluted share. However, when adjusted, earnings rose to 38 cents per diluted share, compared to 30 cents per diluted share in the previous year.
Revenue Breakdown
The revenue for this quarter totalled $464.1 million, a substantial jump from $351.0 million reported in the first quarter of 2025. The revenue sources include:
- Satellite Systems: $313.1 million, an increase from $222.0 million last year.
- Robotics and Space Operations: $91.6 million, up from $77.3 million.
- Geointelligence: $59.4 million, rising from $51.7 million.

MDA’s backlog remains impressive, standing at $3.69 billion as of March 31, 2026. This supports the company’s continued growth and stability in the competitive space industry.
