Police Arrest Woman for Driving on Sidewalk Toward Biking Child

A woman in Spokane, Washington, was arrested for driving her vehicle on a sidewalk and almost colliding with a child riding a bike. The incident occurred on April 28, involving 56-year-old Wendy A. Clemente, who was captured on video in her silver Ford Focus.

Incident Details

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Clemente drove onto the sidewalk, closely following the juvenile cyclist. Fortunately, the child was not harmed during the encounter. After the incident, deputies commenced a search for the driver when they received a report of a burglary about a mile from the scene.

Arrest and Charges

Law enforcement located Clemente at a nearby home, where her vehicle was parked in the driveway. Initially, she denied any alcohol or drug consumption. Later, she modified her statement, admitting to having consumed alcohol.

Judicial Proceedings
