Chayka’s statement during his press conference highlighted that he does not intend to pressure Matthews into making any quick decisions.
Matthews’ Current Status
Auston Matthews is currently 28 years old and earns an annual salary of $13.25 million. This past season, he played 60 games, missing the final stretch due to a knee injury sustained from a hit by Radko Gudas. In terms of performance, Matthews ended the regular season with:
